Using Chipboard As Stamps
Sometimes a page calls for a grungy handmade feel - and I've discovered a fantastic technique to achieve it!
Flicking through a US scrap mag the other day, I came across a cool idea for using chipboard to stamp with...so guess what I've been doing on this last cold, indoors-by-the-fire, perfect-for-scrapping weekend?
Grab some of those chipboard letters and shapes sitting neglected in your stash, an acrylic block and some paint and join me...
Step 1
Place some temporary adhesive to the RIGHT side of your chipboard. I used temporarily repositional photo squares by Scrapbook Adhesives. (Self-adhesive chipboard is NOT suitable to use!)

Step 2
Attach to a clear acrylic mounting block. Apply paint - you will need a generous amount, as it absorbs into the chipboard quite quickly.

Step 3
Stamp onto paper or cardstock. Again, working quickly before the paint begins to dry.

Step 4
Remove the chipboard from the block with a flat implement (I used an old bread knife). You can reuse the chipboard shape/letter for something else, as only the back of it will be painted!
Tip: It's a good idea to clean your mounting block with a baby wipe or damp cloth in between each use, then wash thoroughly in warm soapy water at the end.
To complete my "Queen of the Tub" layout below, I outlined the stamped letters with a black pen a couple of times, cut them out and assembled my title.
I used the same technique for my "bubbly" border, using a chipboard flourish by Fancy Pants for my stamp.

This is a technique you can have heaps of fun with - experiment with a variety of chipboard (textured Grungeboard could be cool), or even foam or felt. And don't forget to show us what you come up with!
Happy Scrappin'...
