Funky Finds – Alice Fettling

While surfing some of my favourite blogs I stumbled on this lovely lady with immeasurable style - Alice Fettling – I knew the name – she’s been a happy Tari subscriber for some time ;) so I clicked on over and holy doly, so glad I did!
I’m thrilled to be able to run this little expose on Alice here on my first Funky Finds post. She is young at just 18 and definitely funky!

Alice hails from Maryborough, Victoria and next year will be off to Melbourne to study graphic design. She has been scrapping since she was 14 and her work shows her own innate sense of style, attention to detail and a beautiful eye for colour and composition.

Alice’s blog is filled with favourite outfits, fun photos of her home life and is sprinkled with crafting projects and recipes.

So let’s get up close and personal and see what makes Alice tick. – 10 questions for you:
1. What is something that you must do everyday?
I have to drink lots of water everyday! It helps me feel healthy and refreshed. I have also recently become addicted to exercise and like to do some sort of activity each evening - whether it be a short walk or an intensive gym class.

2. Name three things that you treasure
- A 24 carat gold charm bracelet which my Grandpa gave me when I was a toddler. It is too small for me now, but was picked out by him when he was a jeweller and given to me as a gift. I am reminded of him each time I see it.
- My scrapbook albums, as they contain so many memories and I have put so much creative energy into each of them.
- My digital SLR which I received from my parents for my 18th Birthday. I am still trying to figure out all the special features, but it is most definitely my baby. *wink*
3. You have an eclectic style of dress - what is your favourite outfit and why?
I love to use fashion as a way to express myself! I couldn't say that I have a favourite outfit, as I tend to mix it up a lot, but my favourite item of clothing is currently a gorgeous black skirt with yellow sunflowers all over it. Perfect for summer! I plan to wear it with black stockings and some bright yellow shoes!
4. Favourite lipstick colour?
I adore the look of deep red lipstick! I think that with the right outfit it can look stunning.
5. What is your guilty pleasure?
Chocolate! Definitely chocolate. I have a real sweet tooth and have been known to drive to my local supermarket late at night for a quick choccy fix...oops.
6. Three words that define you?
Aspire, Create, Reflect
7. Places you’d like to visit and why…
I have a fascination with France, which began when I started to learn the language in year 7. I hope to spend 6 months there as part of my studies in 2010!
I would also love to travel around the world - one of my aspirations is to take a spur of the moment trip sometime in the future, and just simply backpack around Europe or perhaps somewhere in Africa. I love the opportunity to experience new things, taste different food and listen to all the adorable accents!
8. Favorite etsy seller what do you like about them?
I bought some amazing prints from a seller called MyCharlieGirl. http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5184938
She sells her hand drawn and digital artwork and has such talent! I love browsing through her etsy shop for inspiration and to simple stare at her work in awe. It is very fashion based and quite similar to my own drawing style, which I think is what attracts me to it.

9.Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?
Hopefully out of University, with a decent job in the graphics and design industry. I would love to end up working for a magazine of some sort - a scrapbooking one would be amazing!
10. Can you share some of your favourite blogs?

I hope you have enjoyed this interview with Alice as much as I have creating it – I have now doubt Alice Fettling will be a well known name in Aussie scrapping in the not too distant future – I’d say she may even be snapped up by a kit company soon for a guest spot - don’t ya think ? *wink*
Happy crafting,
Tamar
