Are You A Forum Junkie?

Are you a forum junkie?
Not that it’s a bad thing if you are…we all have different needs, whether it be conversation, advice, inspiration, motivation, the chance to have an opinion…or a chance to win some competitions!
More often than not forums will give us all that and more! But what’s the big draw card with Forums!?! For me it was learning…
I learnt that I really needed a better camera, my own computer, a photo printer, a scanner, the newer version of Photoshop Elements, my own scrap table…oops scratch that – my own scrap ROOM…oh and what about a scrap shop as well hey…ok; it wasn’t quite that bad…I already had a good camera!
(Read on...)

Seriously though… Forum Life has taught me a lot and not only about scrapbooking. I have travelled a long cyber journey from being being a totally clueless newbie, to being chosen as part of a design team, to owning my own shop.
But mostly I have learnt more about myself and who I am over the last few years than I think I could have ever discovered had I not gone searching for new scrap supplies years ago!
In my opinion scrapbookers are great people…all you need to do is look at our hobby and how passionate we all are about it…we all have a story to tell and love to listen to other peoples stories. We are creative, supportive, imaginative and fun!
It's just a matter of finding a Forum that best reflects who you are…each one offers something different because of the combination of the members' personalities as well as the way the forums are managed by the owners. There will be one out there for you, without a doubt!
I have 3 fave sites and yes, I’m going to shamelessly plug them…because as a Forum member you’re proud of the communities you are a part of and love to spread the word, one is simple; you’re here already!! In no particular order of love there is:
- The Scrap Witch {my 1st cyber home} for a natter with like-minded friends, great challenges and fabulous no stress Cyber Crops
- Now scrapping where there is inspiration a plenty {run by my friend, the gorgeous Vicki Brunner}
- Aussie Scrapbooking for my Daily Blog read {twice a day, every day!}
The balance of the 3 of them is just enough for me and there’s no guilt factor if I don’t show up for a week because living got in the way of chatting!!
I feel I’ve come full circle on my Forum Life journey, I’ve tried big ones, busy ones, small ones and brand new ones, I’ve laughed, giggled and supported others, I’ve even been shocked and disgruntled at some…most times though I have met fabulous people and had a great deal of fun!! I have now come back to a simpler “Forum Life” …but that just means I have a new beginning on a new journey…I wonder where it will take me this time!?!
Where has your journey taken you, what is it you enjoy from your Forum Life?
