Vicki Boutin's Scrap Room

Scrap Space Envy

by Jill on February 24, 2010

Anyone who reads Scrapscene regularly will have noticed a semi-regular post about scrap rooms and creative spaces. A new one caught my eye today, you’ll find it here if you haven’t already seen it.

Since then, my eyes have since fallen on a number of other scrap rooms today during my habitual trek through Bloglines.

  • At Addicted To Craft, design team member Renee Dowling shows a glimpse at her scrap room.
  • Seven Gypsies features the creative space of Vicki Boutin (pictured). This one’s so thoroughly organised, gorgeous and perfect I’m still wiping away the envy laden projectile vomit from my computer screen.
  • American Crafts fixes its spotlight on designer Katrina Simeck and her scrap space. (Organised, perfect…projectile vomiting.)

How awesome are these scrap rooms? Seriously!

If you’re feeling slightly inferior right now, I can perhaps be of great service. Here’s a stark contrast…

Yes this is my very own comparatively poorly looking scrap space. It’s basically a small desk in the corner of my bedroom and a tired old bookshelf next to it. (And yes that IS a red wall behind my desk. I didn’t paint it though…it was here when we moved in.) It’s cramped, it’s disorganised, it’s…well…ugly.

Oh and just in case you think I’ve spent 146 hours cleaning and tidying before taking these photos…(it should be obvious I didn’t)…sorry to disappoint. Here’s a view from behind my chair on the floor…

Hmmmm…*blush*.

Are you feeling better now? I hope I’ve given you a little something to smile about. :)

THANK YOU SSOOOOOOO MUCH for sharing your scrap space, and giving me the best chuckle I’ve had today!!! Mine looks just like yours, only four times bigger & messier, because I do have a whole room, with four walls!!

You’re welcome Marg. I’m glad someone got a giggle. :)

Sometimes you just have to keep it real, don’t you?
