Recommended Blog: The Hybrid Chick

Today I thought I’d recommend one of my newest favourite blogs – The Hybrid Chick. For anyone who may not know, the term “hybrid” refers to the use of both of digital and traditional techniques in a project. If you’re not a digital scrapper (I only dabble), don’t necessarily be put off. There’s plenty of benefit over there for traditional scrappers.

A little bit more on the blog – it’s authored by a team of contributors (or “hybrid artists”) and it’s associated with digital scrapbook store The Digichick.

Some of the projects involve printing out a template on your home printer and then adding some traditional techniques to finish it off. Many are actually what I’d term “beyond the page” rather than hybrid…but hey whatever floats your boat. Believe it or not there’s also some very “traditional” looking projects that happen to use a printed digital element…like a patterned papers say. (Not really a problem for the non-digi minded, as we can easily substitute some traditional patterned paper or embellishments from our stashes, right?)

It’s difficult to choose, but some of my favourite projects on the blog include:

If you haven’t done so already, I highly recommend taking a look over at The Hybrid Chick. Enjoy!;)
