As I mentioned last week, I’ve finished my Christmas shopping so I’m free to enjoy the rest of December. Part of this freedom includes thinking about doing some scrapbooking projects (*shock horror*). Let’s take a look at some of the scrapping tutorials available this week:
- I found this gorgeous Christmas wreath at GCD Studios. There’s a template supplied for the leaves and also some step-by-step instructions to follow.
- Reminisce also has a lovely Christmas wreath made with their Christmastime collection.
- For something a little different, you could try out the tutorial at Scrapbook And Cards Today for these cute little paper chick ornaments. (No I’m sorry – “cute” just doesn’t cut it. These are ADORABLE!) I’ve discovered they’re actually favor boxes which come in a kit by Basic Grey called “Do Me A Favor Lemonade”. Anam Stubbington has added her own twist, turning them into hang-able ornaments.
- Alternatively, My Mind’s Eye has these cute hanging ornaments which could be used to decorate your tree or your home. There’s a pdf instruction sheet to download with this one.
- Write. Click. Scrapbook. has not one, not two, but THREE different types of advent calendars ideas to look at. Pity there’s no instructions with them.
- Learn how to create funky digital titles with Kaisercraft. Unfortunately, the tutorial doesn’t mention what software they’re using. The instructions are reasonably generic though, so you should be able to adapt them with a good measure of logic to suit your program of choice.
- Simply Modern Mom has a fantastic paper snowflake tutorial. There’s 3 different examples shown (I really like the curly one).
- For a slight variation on the snowflake theme, Creating Keepsakes has their own paper snowflake tutorial to try out.
- If you’re on the hunt a gift box, GCD Studios obliges with this gift box tutorial. This tutorial has an interesting way of attaching the lid!
- Alternatively, you could try out Liz Goldhawk’s gift box tutorial instead. This box has rounded edges.
- Last, but not least, Creativity Prompt has a video tutorial demonstrating how to make a stitched notebook. Not a bad gift idea. If you’re reading via the website, click play to the right of your screen to watch. If you’re reading via RSS, follow the link to access the video from the related blog post. (The video’s over 8 minutes long.)

thanks for all the idea links! can’t wait to check out the paper snowflake tutorial – my kids love to make paper snowflakes so I could impress them if I could teach them a trick or two
Hi Katie, you’re welcome. I’m sure your kids will be suitably impressed.
I’m working on a Kaisercraft Days til Christmas kit and my kids keep coming to check on the tree’s progress each day. LOL!
Thanks for the shout-out
You’re welcome Avital. You gals are doing a fantastic job.
