Welcome to Day 6 of my Christmas Card Feature. (If you missed the previous posts in this series, you’ll find them here: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4 and Day 5.)
My apologies - I’m a little behind schedule – courtesy of some unfortunate person crashing their car into the substation that supplies power to my street – resulting in us being without electricity for an extended period. (I certainly hope the person involved is uninjured, the car certainly was a mess.)
Anyway, onto the card. This card took approx. 10 minutes to put together. I like this one because there’s some different colours (blues and browns) creeping in there. I’m a little over red, green and gold right now! If you’d like to have a go at reproducing the card, a supply list follows.
Supply List
- Two strips of cardstock – 2cm high x 15cm
- One strip of striped patterned paper 1.5cm high x 15cm wide
- Scalloped Edge Punch
- Three cardstock triangles in green (for tree foliage)
- Three cardstock scraps in brown (for tree trunks)
- Lettering (for greeting) – the font I’ve used is one commonly found on Windows systems – Accord Heavy SF Bold
- 4 x flower gems
- 1 x star gem
I’ll be posting today’s Christmas card later on this afternoon in an effort to catch up.

I have only just found your site. I just love the chatty way you write.
I notice you have a cuttlebug and robocraft(i think u call it that). I am just about to buy a sizzix and have been told two stories that is can cut cuttle bug dies and others say no… do you know anything about that?
cheers
K
Hi Karen. I’m probably more “chatty” online than I am in real life..and yes you’re right…I’m a little ashamed to admit that I own a Cuttlebug, a Craft Robo, a Sizzix machine (the early original version)…AND a Cricut. I know a little bit about each of them, so I’m happy to share my experience where possible.
I think I’ll answer your specific question in a blog post…although I would really have to know which Sizzix model you’re intending to buy.
Hi
I have just bought a Cuttlebug, having owned a Cricut for 18 months I’ve just discovered embossing! Anyway, I’m looking at a Large Die A2 with 4 designs and was wondering if you know whether each design would be A2 sized, or if there would be 1 big die with 4 small shapes on it?THanks
Hi Michelle,
Ah yes embossing can be quite addictive.
As to your question, without knowing exactly which die you’ve purchased I can’t say for sure. I would be suspecting that there may be 4 designs on the A2 size.
With Combo sets, you get an A2 embossing folder and an A2 sized die which usually have a number of designs on the A2 area. With the Tag Team sets you get a 3″ x 3″ die and four 3&3/4″ embossing folders.
I hope some of that helps. Happy embossing.
