Welcome to Day 4 of my Christmas Card Feature. (If you missed the first couple of posts in this series, you’ll find them here: Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3.)
This card came together very quickly – preparation time only 10 minutes. However it definitely did not want to be photographed! My hubby losing his job (for the 2nd time in two years just prior to Christmas), a flat camera battery, poor lighting, flying seeds on the breeze – these are just a few of the obstacles that threatened to get in the way of me posting this card. Better late than never I guess.
If you’d like to have a go at reproducing it, a supply list follows.
Supply List
- 3 x strips of patterned paper – one at 3cm wide x 15cm high and two at 2cm x 15cm high. The two thinner strips need to be scalloped on one edge (I’ve used various Kaisercraft designs)
- Scalloped Edge Punch (I’ve used a Stampin’ Up! brand punch)
- Cardstock for stars, scalloped strip and lettering. Larger star measures 6cm x 6cm tip to tip, and the smaller star measures 4cm x 4cm.
- Glitter (pearlescent to cover stars)
- Round gems
- Stars drawn in Adobe Illustrator and cut with the Craft Robo electronic cutter
- Lettering in Ballpark Weiner font (free download from dafont.com) and cut with the Craft Robo
I’m accumulating a few Christmas embellishments that I’ve drawn in making the cards. It seems a shame to just delete them afterwards, so I might put them together in a free cutout sheet for Aussie readers at the end of the Card Feature. Watch out for it here on the blog around 1st Dec 2009.
Until tomorrow, enjoy!
