Christmas Card #1

Christmas Card Feature Day 1

by Jill on November 14, 2009

Welcome to Day 1 of my 16 day Christmas Card feature (or I should probably call it my Christmas Card “Challenge”). Yes I’m challenging myself to make at least ONE Christmas card per day, for the next 16 days. My goal is to have all my cards ready for posting on December 1, 2009. Aussie readers are welcome to follow along and take a look at the cards I’ve made each day.

Before showing you my first card, I should probably apologize in advance for my lack of cardmaking skill. No doubt Aussie readers can improve dramatically on my crude examples.  ;)

The first card I have to show you is a very simple card. It took under 10 minutes to prepare. If you’d like to have a go at reproducing it, there’s a supply list below.

Supplies

  • 4 x strips of patterned paper (2.5cm high x 15cm wide)
  • 1 x piece of patterned paper for the background (10cm high x 15cm wide). The paper I’ve used is an older Kaisercraft one.
  • Glitter glue pens (2 colours)
  • Stamp (for your greeting) – I’ve used a stamp from the Season’s Surfin’ set by Stampin’ Up! (p18 of their Spring Mini Catalogue found online here)
  • Scalloped Edge Punch – I’ve used the Scallop Edge Punch by Stampin’ Up! (p34 of their 2009-10 Idea Book & Catalogue)
  • Star shaped gem (you could use a star shaped die cut, punch, sticker or stamp instead!)

Check back tomorrow for Day 2 of the feature. Oh and if you’d like to make your own envelopes for your cards, you could always have a go at making your own envelope template. :D

PS Apologies for the lateness in the day of this post. I’ve been dealing with a sick child with gastro this morning – and all the washing and cleaning up that goes along with it…*sigh*.
