I have a guilty little secret to share with you. You can keep a secret right? The other day I was checking out some of the upcoming craft book releases (something I do regularly) when my eyes fell on this little gem – 52 More Scrapbooking Challenges. I already own a copy of 52 Scrapbooking Challenges
by Elsie Flannigan, so I guess you could say the follow-up book had me at “hello”. I know I refer to Elsie’s book often.
This new book is written by Elizabeth Kartchner who I admit to knowing nothing about (it’s not that often that I come out from under my rock into the sunlight). Many of you probably recognise the name straight off. Apparently she was Creating Keepsake’s 2007 Scrapper Of The Year. Oops! Obviously I don’t really follow the scrapbooking industry “celebrities” all that closely. Naturally I’ve Googled her since and she has blog called Just Us and she is also on Twitter. Elizabeth herself refers to the upcoming book release (Nov 2, 2009 ) on her blog here.
From my reading, 52 More Scrapbooking Challenges is 164 pages long and features an array of designers, the 52 challenge ideas and also example layouts. There’s a sneak preview of some of the pages of the book below – challenge #6 is to “use a time as the title of your layout” and challenge #7 is to “celebrate the number 7″. (Click on the image below and then click on the white arrow keys at the top of the screen to flip the pages of the book.)
If you’re reading via RSS, Creating Keepsakes has the same sneak preview on their site here.
Back to my guilty secret. Shhh! Don’t tell hubby. I pre-ordered a copy for myself from Amazon for USD$13.46 which translates to about AUD$14.97 for us Aussies (plus shipping of course). Creating Keepsake are advertising the book at its recommend retail price of USD$19.99, so that’s a bit of a saving. Naturally I’ll write a book review when it arrives on my doorstep. Mmmm can’t wait!
