One of my favourite things to do of an evening when l’m supposed to be working is go blog-hopping. Reading blogs sometimes feels a little like reality tv – l often feel like l’m snooping, or reading someone’s diary while they’re not in the room! But it’s lovely to see life from someone else’s perspective, and scrapbooking blogs are fantastic for inspiration too.
Here’s some of my favourites, in no particular order (click on the blog image and it will open in a new window):
I discovered Alice Fettling’s blog only a few days ago, and within a few minutes was hooked. She does beautiful, beautiful layouts, l loved the colour combos and detail on her pages! I also loved reading about her recent holidays and enjoyed the beautiful photographs she took. Here’s one of her layouts: (l hope you don’t mind me sharing it Alice!)
Emily Falconbridge’s blog is another favourite of mine. I love reading about her travels around the world, and her weekly art journal prompt is a must. I met Emily at Kiwiscraps in 2007, and loved her energy and obvious creativity.
Gillian Hamilton is a blogger whose work is pure eye candy. l’ve been a follower of her blog since she joined The Stamping Queen design team. I love everything old, grungy and vintage (you know, all those stern faced ladies on rubber stamps, fairy wings, lots of inking and weird quotes!) and Gillian’s blog gives me a much needed dose of ART when my scrapbooking gets too organised and over thought. The attention to detail in her cards and ATC’s is just beautiful.
Ngaire Bartlam’s blog is a riot of colour, expression, fabulous links, inspiring pics, and arty quotes. She has an eye for finding anything quirky or amusing online, (l will never forget how much l laughed at the OK GO on treadmills video that she posted from youtube!) and it’s just a great place to visit when you need a break from the humdrum of work and something to brighten your day. Her scrapbooking is gorgeous, the detail and depth never ceases to amaze me.
I’ve been a reader of Nicole Finlayson’s blog for years now. Not only is she a talented scrapbooker, but the way she writes (and the topics she writes about) are real and very honest, and l quite often find myself silently agreeing, sympathizing, or celebrating along with her. Nicole writes about her family, motherhood, juggling work, scrapbooking, friends, housework and anything else that takes her fancy, and it’s a blog that l come back to time and time again.
There’s heaps more that l could have included, but we’ll leave you with these for now, and revisit this topic in a few weeks. If you know of a blog you’d like to see featured on Aussie Scrapbooking, email me! Today’s featured bloggers receive our brand new Inspiring Blogger award to place in their blog sidebar
