Creative Cafe

The Creative Cafe concept was introduced at CHA Summer 2007. The concept was dreamed up by Creative Imaginations’ two best selling artists, Danelle Johnson and Alison Wong. The concept involves an "art bar" of supplies in your LSS stocked with "bins" of co-ordinating items including "tags, buttons, felt,  ribbon, rub-ons, stickers, papers, cards, chipboard, stamps and dies." As well as shopping for co-ordinated supplies, customers can also sit at the "art bar" to work on their projects.

For those who haven't seen it, there's also a blog supporting the Creative Cafe concept called My Creative-Cafe.

Keeping A Grateful Journal

Sue Madex

A friend gave me a gorgeous little journal when I was expecting my first child to record things I was grateful for.

Whenever I write in it regularly, it seems to help me focus on things that are really important and forget some of the trivia that can otherwise clutter my brain. You know the stuff – what do you mean we’ve run out of Vegemite? Which day is Show and Tell? What was that clunk? Is the dirty laundry pile going to break free and take over the house?

Writing in my grateful journal helps me get my perspective back, and of course, it also provides me with lots of inspiration for my scrapbooking…

Manufacturer Watch - 5th Sep 08

Jill Costello

Instead of doing my housework today (whoops!) I've been trawling the blogs of some of the overseas scrapbooking manufacturers and I found a few things of interest to share with everyone...

Fiskars - I spied this Fathers' Day card idea made with Cloud 9's Max's Backyard range by Lianne Gray over at the Fiskars blog...

September Layout Challenge!

Our Aussie Scrapbooking September Layout challenge is proudly sponsored by Everlasting Scrapbooks! Melanie is donating a fabulous Topline Creations prizepack to the value of $50 for the winner, including:

TLC Chatter Bookz - Adore
TLC Runway Kit Salt and Pepper Shapes
TLC Runway Monograms - Salt and Pepper
TLC Runway Ribbon - Salt and Pepper

All Topline Creations products can be viewed HERE

To enter the September comp, we want you to create a layout inspired by the colour scheme on the Everlasting website. Here's a closer look at their site header - but check the front page, because there are other colours too!

It doesn't have to be an exact copy, you can leave some colours out, or give more space to red, or just choose one or two. Use your imagination, and we can't wait to see what you come up with. Entries must be loaded to the September 2008 competition album in the gallery, and close midnight 30th September 2008.

Happy Scrapping!

Aussies Making The Grade

Sharmaine Kruijver

When I see names up in lights I get excited but when I see that those names are from Australia, well lets just say my inner cheerleader does a backflip while shouting Woo Hoo, while waving our flag!!

So what am I internally woo hooing about this week??

The news that the Fancy Pants Design Team has been announced with Jolene Pienaar standing proud as our Aussie amongst the other talented scrappers named as joining the team. She joins fellow Aussie Michelle Filo. Jolene is also part of the Paper Trunk Team.

And if you missed it Jill Geraghty-Groves and Belinda Venables made the Design Team for American Crafts joining Mel Nunn who is staying on for another term.

I am pretty sure there are others out there, representing our country in the international scrapping industry, and with other new Design Teams being announced over the next few months I am looking forward to seeing other Australians having their names up in lights :)
